FAQs
What type of therapy do you practice?
I practice mostly psychodynamic therapy and incorporate CBT and DBT when appropriate.
What is psychodynamic therapy?
Psychodynamic therapy means we’ll be focusing on early life experiences that may be impacting your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This can help to bring awareness to unconscious patterns and promote personal growth and change.
What insurance do you take?
I accept the following insurances:
Aetna (NY, PA, TX)
Optum/Oscar/Oxford/United Healthcare (NY only)
Once you inquire, the Headway team will help determine what your cost will be. This will all be done prior to the first session.
How much does therapy cost?
My fee is $225 without insurance. I do offer sliding scale options for clients who are unable to afford the full rate. Please inquire further. If you don’t have the insurances I listed above, you may still be able to get money back from your insurance through out of network benefits.
How do I determine if my insurance covers out-of-network therapy?
To determine if your insurance covers out-of-network therapy, you can review your insurance policy or contact your insurance provider directly. Ask them about your out-of-network mental health benefits, including the reimbursement rates and any requirements, such as obtaining prior-authorization or meeting a deductible.
How much will I have to pay for out-of-network therapy?
You will be responsible for the full rate of a session and then afterward, you can submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement, which may cover up to 100% of the fee based on your out-of-network benefits.
What states are you licensed in?
I am licensed in New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
